Wall Street closes at a record for the first time since end of January
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 1.14% or 3.30 points to trade at 292.50 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 1.08% or 0.24 points to end at 22.38 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 0.99% or 1.78 points to 180.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.49% or 0.73 points to trade at 28.53 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.80% or 1.85 points to end at 101.15 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 1.73% or 8.55 points to 485.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which rose 6.00% to 1.93, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 4.28% to settle at 14.85 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 3.35% to close at 43.16.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 2.49% to 28.53 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 1.96% to settle at 210.00 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 1.80% to 101.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 252 to 201 and 114 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.28% or 0.61 to 14.85.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 2.00 to $3,386.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.81% or 0.51 to hit $63.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.54 to trade at $67.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 98.56.
